Audience & Content Pillars

Who you talk to and what you talk about — the two tabs that steer topic and framing.

Updated 2026-07-22

Identity, Visual, and Voice tell the generator how you sound. Audience and Pillars tell it who it's talking to and what it should say. Both feed every generation, whether one-off from Create or autopilot-driven.

Audience

Add one or more personas — the people you're actually trying to reach.

A good persona:

  • Has a real name-and-role sketch. "Marta, boutique retailer, 35–50, runs a 2-person team, hates spreadsheets." Not "our target customer".
  • Lists 2–5 pain points. Specific ones. "Constantly forgets to post on weekends" beats "time management".
  • Feels like one person, not a market segment.

You can add up to 10 personas but 1–3 covers most brands. Pain points across personas are pooled into one list the generator can draw from.

Why personas matter

The generator uses personas to:

  • Pick which pain point to open a post with (rotates across the pool so you're not always leading with the same one).
  • Match reading level. Enterprise personas get more formal copy; consumer personas get more conversational.
  • Choose CTAs. B2B personas get replies-in-thread; B2C gets link-in-bio.

Pillars

Content pillars are the 3–6 themes your content revolves around. They're the answer to "what could this brand post about this week?"

For a specialty coffee brand: Origin stories, Brew tutorials, Cafe of the week, Team behind the counter.

For a marketing SaaS: Product deep-dives, Behind the scenes, Customer wins, Industry trends, How-tos.

Each pillar has:

  • Name — short, memorable.
  • Description — up to 2000 characters. Enumerate sub-topics and give examples. The more concrete, the better the topic picker.
  • Weight — relative. If Pillar A is 1.0 and Pillar B is 0.5, the autopilot will draw about twice as often from A.

Weights are relative

Weights are not percentages. If all pillars have weight 1, you get a fair rotation. Doubling one pillar's weight doubles its share of the mix.

Where pillars kick in

  • Autopilot workflows use pillars to seed topic ideas.
  • One-off Create posts can be tagged to a pillar so you can see the mix in Posts by pillar over time.

Iteration tip

If a pillar keeps producing weak topics, its description is probably too abstract. Rewrite it with 3–5 concrete example topics inside the description text itself. The generator treats those as anchors, not templates.
