Create Post

The main creation flow — a full tour of prompts, sources, previews, and shipping.

Updated 2026-07-22

Create is where every one-off post starts. Whether you're writing text, generating an image, or building a short-form video, the flow is the same: prompt in, previews out, ship.

The layout

The Create page has three main areas:

  • Top tabs — Post, Image, Video. The tab determines what kind of output you're generating.
  • Left column — prompt, source, style controls. The stuff you fill in.
  • Right column — live previews per platform. Updates as you edit.

Prompt

The prompt is what you want the post to be about. Keep it in your own voice — the generator will translate it into the Brand Voice from your kit.

Two working styles both fine:

  • Brief prompt, let the AI fill: "Announce we're closed Monday for Labour Day."
  • Detailed brief: "Announce we're closed Monday for Labour Day. Warm, apologetic tone. Mention we'll be back Tuesday with fresh pastries. Suggest they preorder online. No emoji."

Detailed briefs get closer to the final on the first pass. Short prompts require more iteration but leave more room for the AI to surprise you.

Source

The source selector attaches structured material to the prompt:

  • None — just the prompt.
  • Product — pick a product from your Products tab. Prompt gets the product name, description, price, and image.
  • Library item — pick an image or video from your Library. Used as visual reference.
  • Reference — pick one of your saved references. Used as a style anchor for this generation.
  • URL — paste any URL. Postazo scrapes it (Open Graph + main content) and uses that as the seed.

Sources compound with the prompt — the AI sees both.

Generation

Hit Generate. Under the hood:

  • Copy is drafted per platform (LinkedIn gets more, Instagram gets a hook + hashtags, X gets a short punchy version).
  • If you're in Image or Video mode, visuals generate in parallel.
  • All Brand Kit context (Identity, Voice, Audience, Pillars, References) is injected into the prompt.

You can edit the generated copy directly in the preview — the field is fully editable. Regenerating overwrites your edits, so if you've made manual changes you like, ship before regenerating.

Regen nudges

If the first pass isn't quite right, use the regen field for a short hint: "punchier", "drop the last sentence", "less corporate", "emoji please". The AI applies the nudge on top of the previous output.

Destinations

Below the previews is one panel per connected social account. Toggle the ones you want the post to go to. Each destination shows a per-platform preview so you can check character counts, hashtag placement, and whether your image is being cropped.

Ship

Post delivery status shows up in Posts — one row per attempt with per-destination status.
