References, Quotes & Sources
The material you can plug into the generator — reference posts you like, quotable people, and outside content feeds.
Once Identity, Voice, Audience, and Pillars are set, References, Quotes, and Sources sharpen output further. They're where you plug in real material for the generator to lean on.
References
Reference posts are examples of content you want to sound / look like. They live in the References tab of the Brand Kit.
- Paste any social URL (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube). Postazo scrapes the post, extracts the caption + platform + author, and stores it.
- Add a note explaining why it's a reference. "Love the hook — question, pause, punchline." — this shows up alongside the reference when the generator reads it.
- You can also upload images directly if it's an offline reference or a competitor's design that isn't public.
How references influence generation
- Copy generation reads the caption text as a style anchor — tone, structure, hook shape.
- Image generation reads the visual as a design reference — composition, palette, treatment.
- Notes are read alongside the reference so the generator knows what specifically you liked.
References are strongest when you have 5–10 covering different post types. Fewer than 3 and the influence is thin; more than ~20 and the generator starts to average them out.
Quotes
Anything quotable — from a founder interview, a customer testimonial, a podcast transcript.
Format is just quote text + attribution. The generator weaves quotes into posts when they're relevant (about ~15% of generations by default) — you can raise or lower that in the Voice tab if you want more or fewer.
Common uses:
- Founder quotes that establish philosophy.
- Customer testimonials the generator can turn into image cards.
- Recurring phrases you want reused ("Our motto is X" — the generator will call it a motto and treat it as branded).
Sources
Sources are external content feeds you want the generator to draw from.
- WordPress connection — pulls your blog posts so autopilot workflows can turn recent articles into social posts.
- RSS feeds — same idea, for any site.
- Sitemap URL — used by the URL-generation batch flow (Generate a batch of posts from a site) to discover crawlable pages.
Sources are optional — the generator works fine without them. But they're the fastest way to feed the autopilot with real, recent material: connect your blog, turn on autopilot, and every fresh article becomes a social post automatically.
What to prioritise
If you're building the kit incrementally: References first (biggest quality lift), then Quotes (dimensional variety), then Sources (only if you have a blog worth mining).
