Video mode
Short-form video generation — UGC-style talking heads and Start Frame AI animation.
Video mode produces short-form vertical video (9:16) — the format that works on TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. There are two sub-modes: UGC and Start Frame. They produce very different videos, and which one you pick depends on the kind of content you're after.
UGC mode
UGC (user-generated content) mode produces a video that looks like someone talking to camera about your product — the ubiquitous "here's a thing I tried and here's what I think" format.
Under the hood:
- You give a script or let the AI draft one from your prompt + Brand Voice.
- The AI renders a talking-head video with a synthesised avatar reading the script.
- Optional: burn-in captions in one of the caption styles (Postazo has 4 built-in styles).
Best for:
- Product testimonials and reviews.
- Explainer content ("here's what X does").
- Anything where a human voice + face works better than motion graphics.
You control the avatar (persona type, look), the caption style, and the length. Longer than about 60 seconds isn't recommended for short-form.
Start Frame mode
Start Frame mode starts with a single image — a product photo, a designed card, an uploaded still — and the AI animates outward from it. You get a 5–10 second motion clip suitable as a Reel or Shorts cover.
Under the hood:
- You provide the start frame (from a product, library, upload, or a Prompt-generated image).
- You describe the motion you want ("slow push-in", "gentle sway", "rotating product").
- The AI generates the video keeping your start frame recognisable.
Best for:
- Product hero shots that need motion for the algorithm.
- Cover / hook cards for Reels.
- Designed-first content where the still is the concept.
Captions
Both modes support burned-in captions in one of four styles. Captions render in sync with the narration (or with a beat pattern in Start Frame mode). Pick the style that matches your Brand Visual — some are minimal, some are hype-y.
Where the audio comes from
- UGC — synthesised narration reading your script.
- Start Frame — no narration by default. Add background music from your Brand Audio library if you want a soundtrack.
Where to add narration to a still-image post
If you're in Image mode and want narration on top of a still, that's a Start Frame video, not an Image post — flip modes and the narration + music controls appear.
